Two of Edgbaston’s cultural and culinary powerhouses are set to unite on Tuesday 8 July 2025, as Elmhurst Ballet School hosts an unforgettable black-tie summer gala in partnership with acclaimed restaurant, Chapter.
The evening begins at 6pm with a live music and canapé reception, setting the stage for an inspiring performance of Voices & Virtues — Elmhurst’s summer showcase celebrating the bold creativity of emerging dance artists and the timeless mastery of classical ballet.
Recognised globally as one of the leading vocational ballet schools, Elmhurst will present a dynamic programme in its intimate studio theatre. Audiences can expect excerpts from timeless classics like Sir Peter Wright’s Swan Lake and Marius Petipa’s Giselle, alongside original works by cutting-edge choreographers Miguel Altunaga (Acosta Danza), Jacob Wye (Ballet Black), and Jessica Wright (Studio Wayne McGregor).
The evening concludes with a specially curated two-course dinner by Chapter – one of Edgbaston’s most celebrated restaurants. Known for its seasonal modern British cuisine, Chapter sources produce from local farmers, fishermen, and artisans, placing sustainability and freshness at the heart of every dish. Guests at the Gala will enjoy a thoughtfully designed menu featuring ethically raised free-range meats, local fruit and vegetables, and fresh fish delivered daily from Brixham Harbour.
Reflecting on the partnership, Jessica Ward, Principal of Elmhurst Ballet School, said:
“To partner with one of Birmingham’s finest restaurants for our Summer Gala is a fitting finale to an exceptional year for Elmhurst. Chapter is a fresh, vibrant voice on the Birmingham culinary scene. Their menu will bring theatricality and elegance, perfectly complementing the spirit of our Voices & Virtues programme.”
Tickets are priced at £130 per person or £1,100 for a table of ten, with all proceeds supporting Elmhurst’s charitable work — helping to make ballet more accessible to children from all backgrounds through mentoring, bursaries, and community outreach.
