A RELOCATION 40 YEARS IN THE MAKING

Leading conservation architects, Donald Insall Associates, has completed the relocation of its Birmingham office to Edgbaston Village on the Calthorpe Estate, 40 years after developing a masterplan for Edgbaston.

Following rapid growth, the award-winning practice has just moved into new premises at 30 Harborne Road, only 18 months after opening its offices in Birmingham.

Donald Insall Associates, which has eight office locations in the UK, including London and Manchester, is responsible for a number of exciting developments, with its Birmingham team working on the Landmark Trust’s 200th restoration project at the historical Llwyn Celyn in Wales. It will now look to expand its specialist team as it moves into the larger office, following a successful year in the city.

Back in the 1970s, Donald Insall Associates worked on the masterplan of the Calthorpe Estate, making its move to Harborne Road even more significant. Matthew Vaughan, Associate at Donald Insall Associates, explains: “Staying on the Calthorpe Estate is extremely exciting for the firm, especially as we have played our own part in preserving the heritage of the Estate.
