The awards and new establishments keep coming

We are delighted to announce that a number of restaurants and bars across Edgbaston Village have recently won a string of awards. The choice of places to dine and drink will soon be enhanced with the opening of two new establishments.

Last month Spanish restaurant El Borracho de Oro on Harborne Road collected the Estate’s latest accolade for “The Best Restaurant in Birmingham 2016” at the Birmingham Awards.

Birmingham’s first Michelin star restaurant Simpsons has just ranked “number one” restaurant in Birmingham in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2017, and were placed 35th in the overall UK restaurants Guide scoring a record of seven out of ten. Simpsons has also achieved its highest ranking for Birmingham in the “Square Meal Top 100” and “National Restaurant Awards Top 100”.

The High Field, which was crowned Best Brunch in Birmingham by the Birmingham Mails’ Breakfast Club in early 2016, has also received Best Gastro Pub at the Birmingham Food & Drink Awards.

And to top off the string of awards, The Edgbaston with its special Art Deco inspired interior and amazing cocktail concoctions, has recently collected Best Cocktail Bar and Best Hotel Bar, with resident mixologist, James Bowker, picking up the Rising Star credit.

Comida@21 has just opened at 21 Highfield Road with a tempting array of modern European flavoured dishes. Established by Stewart and Jade West, they will be serving Weds to Sat brunch, lunch, coffee and cakes from 11am-2.30pm, with the restaurant and bar open from 5.30pm to 11pm.

Just down the road on the corner of Highfield Road and Harborne Road, work is moving on a pace ready for the opening of The Physician, a new Brunning and Price pub which officially opens on Saturday 26th November.
