Edgbaston Village Serves Up Food And Drink Winners

El Borracho de Oro and The Edgbaston have won recognition at the Midlands Food and Drink Hospitality Awards 2017.

The Awards this year covered the entire Midlands area and recognise the very best eateries, restaurants, bars and pubs in the region.

El Borracho de Oro picked up the award for Best Spanish Restaurant and The Edgbaston won Best Cocktail Bar and Best Afternoon Tea.

The two prestigious venues are part of a growing number of restaurants, bars and eateries that have opened on Edgbaston Village, which is building a reputation for leading, independent, high quality outlets.

Nicki Gibberson, Head of Marketing at Calthorpe Estates, which has moved forward with plans to create Edgbaston Village said:

“We are thrilled that the venues are winning so many awards and putting Edgbaston Village on the map as a great place to enjoy the best in food and drink.

Many of the new restaurants and bars offer something different from high street chains and their independence and passion for what they do is reflected in the recognition they receive.”

A number of the other venues, including Simpsons Restaurant and The High Field, have won food and drink awards in the last year.

Other popular eateries are The Blue Piano and The Physician that opened last November.

These are shortly to be joined by The Boston Tea Party that opens this month on Harborne Road and Laghis, a new Italian restaurant and deli that is opening this summer on Islington Row
