Edgbaston Village Set To Shine For Christmas Lights Switch On

Calthorpe Estates will be getting the festive season off to a twinkling start with this year’s Edgbaston Christmas Lights switch on. On Friday 24 November, from 4pm – 7pm, the local community are invited to attend the festive celebration on Highfield Road which is set to illuminate the streets of Edgbaston for the Christmas period.

Santa Claus and his helpers will be switching on the lights at St George’s Church at 6pm, with countdown entertainment provided by Capital FM Radio DJ, Katy Poulsom.

Guests will be treated to a host of entertainment with music from retro vocal harmony trio, the Bluebird Belles, traditional Christmas carols sung by local school choir and a ballet performance from Elmhurst Ballet School.

There will also be a special visit from two real-life reindeer, as well as the opportunity to sample a ‘Taste of Edgbaston’, with Edgbaston Village restaurants selling a range of delicious food and drink options.

Furthermore, there will be gourmet food vans, children’s fairground rides and face painters lining Highfield Road to help get the festive season off to a magical start.
