Ground Breaking Celebrations For Retirement Village

Local businesses and officials joined to break ground on the new Audley St George’s Place luxury retirement village, which is now under construction on Church Road, on the edge of The Village.

The project will see the renovation of the former Royal School for the Deaf into a mix of 95 eye-catching apartments and cottages for the over 55s. Nick Sanderson, CEO of Audley, said: “We are excited to get this new development underway and are encouraged by both the reception and enthusiasm from the local community.  We plan to continue to provide high quality, luxury living for those in later life, while working with the local community and restoring a stunning historic property to create our Audley Club.”

Mark Lee, Calthorpe Estates’ Chief Executive, added: “We are delighted to welcome Audley on to The Estate and to support its plans to create St George’s Place. Located on a gateway site into The Village, all in all it will further enhance the vibrancy and attractiveness of the area.”

Audley’s Club Village is scheduled to be complete in 2016, however homes are available to purchase now. Go to www.audleyretirement.co.uk or call 0121 293 1093 to book a visit to the marketing suite.
