Planning granted for luxurious homes on edge of Edgbaston Village
An historic Victorian building in Edgbaston on the Calthorpe Estate, within 2 minutes walk of Edgbaston Village, is to be restored to create seven luxury residential apartments.
Tag Urban Properties, which is recognised for offering imaginative contemporary apartments, has embarked on a joint venture with Calthorpe Estates to convert Ferndale House on Harborne Road into two one-bedroom apartments, three two-bedroom apartments, a two two-bedroom duplex and a townhouse.
The estimated £1 million development has successfully received planning consent, following extensive review from both Birmingham City Council and Historic England.
Work on the development will commence this month, with an anticipated completion date of spring 2019. The building’s heritage has been considered with sensitivity, ensuring Ferndale House remains a classic Victorian property, only with a modern twist.
