Six awards for Edgbaston Village businesses at Midlands Food & Drink awards

Edgbaston Village cemented its reputation as a must-visit destination for drinking and dining this week, after businesses from the area scooped a staggering SIX awards at the Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards.

Laghi’s Deli won Italian Restaurant of the Year, Loki Wine was named Tasting House of the Year, and The Edgbaston took home a total of four awards, including Cocktail Bar of the Year and Afternoon Tea Establishment of the Year. The Edgbaston employees, Jayne O’Malley and Thomas Matthew, were also named winners of General Manager of the Year and Bar Manager of the Year respectively.

Jayne O’Malley, The Edgbaston General Manager of four years, said, “I am proud to have built, developed and maintained a long-standing consistent team who delight our guests every day with their creativity, skill and enthusiasm.

“We place so much importance on the delivery of genuine hospitality and it’s great to have been recognised for the service we strive so hard to achieve.”

To be eligible for the awards, businesses had to meet a set standard of excellence and be nominated by their customers, before a panel of industry expert made the final decision.

The awards saw hundreds of people in attendance, including the biggest names and faces in the food and catering industry from all around the Midlands, to honour and award the very best restaurants, cafes, eateries, chains, hotels, chefs and more in the world of hospitality.
