A Triumph for Edgbaston Village’s Finest at Birmingham Food Drink and Hospitality Awards
A host of Edgbaston Village’s popular destinations were triumphant at the inaugural Birmingham Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards, which were held on Monday 6 June at Edgbaston Stadium.
The glittering ceremony brought together the great and the good from the regional hospitality industry, to celebrate and reward the achievements of those helping to make the city a great place to live, work, play and visit.
Among the big winners on the night were The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel and Cocktail Lounge, which scooped three awards including Best Hotel Bar and Best Cocktail Bar, with its acclaimed mixologist, James Bowker, also picking up the award for Best Food and Drink Rising Star.
The High Field took top honours in the Best Gastro Pub category, sealing the success of an incredible month for operator, Peach Pubs, which unveiled its neighbouring boutique hotel, The High Field Townhouse, on the same night.
Edgbaston Village’s Michelin-starred restaurant and longstanding star of the city’s fine dining scene, Simpsons Restaurant, also had good reason to celebrate, with Corin Ireland presented with the award for Best Sommelier.
Jayne Herritty, Sales and Marketing Director for Calthorpe Estates, said: “Our huge congratulations go to all the winners of the Birmingham Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards, and of course we are delighted and incredibly proud to see so many winners from Edgbaston Village.
“This phenomenal success is thanks to the passion, creativity, hard work and energy of all those working in the many establishments throughout Edgbaston Village, and to those who have shared our unique vision for the area. They have all played their part in building Edgbaston Village’s reputation as a thriving destination of choice, and they thoroughly deserve to be recognised for their achievements.”
