Viva Espana

Dynamic husband and wife team Alfonso and Emma Yufera-Ruiz founders of The Authentic Tapas Group are set to open the doors to an exciting new Spanish restaurant at Harborne Court, Harborne Road in the heart of The Village, Edgbaston, on 8th June.

El Borracho de Oro will feature a 70-seater dining room, alongside a smaller bar area for those who simply want to enjoy a drink, or stay and relax with informal authentic tapas.

The restaurant is expected to be the first in Birmingham to offer service from a traditional waiter’s trolley, with meat carved and fish filleted right in front of the diners, while ‘Paella Sundays’ will give diners an alternative to the traditional English roast.  And for those who don’t eat meat and fish there will be a great vegetarian selection.

Jayne Herritty, Sales and Marketing Director for Calthorpe Estates, said: “El Borracho de Oro is a fantastic addition to the rapidly growing mix of restaurants and bars in the heart of Edgbaston – not least because it brings something completely different to the area.

“Emma and Fonz are local people with a passion to create something special and individual, the opening of their Spanish Tapas restaurant is highly anticipated and we are looking forward to getting a first glimpse of what is set to be an exciting new destination for foodies within The Village, Edgbaston.”
