Wex photography launches creative hub

A specialist Birmingham photography and video store is celebrating the launch of its brand-new creative hub.

Located on Hagley Road, on the Calthorpe Estate, Wex Photo Video is set to be the primary destination for photographers, filmmakers and creatives in the area, offering expert advice and the UK’s largest range of photography and videography equipment.

More than doubling the size of its previous home, the store is launching a dedicated event space to host a myriad of workshops, demonstrations and exhibitions that will suit photographers and filmmakers of all backgrounds and skill levels.

Louis Wahl, CEO at Wex Photo Video, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be launching our brand-new creative hub in Edgbaston Village, which we hope will further establish and inspire the talented photography community in Birmingham.

“More and more people are using photography and filmmaking as a means of personal expression, and we wanted to create a space where people can share that experience with each other. Our expansion has provided us with an opportunity to do just that, as well as being able to further increase the existing products and services we offer in store.

“We were keen to remain in Edgbaston Village, as we already have a loyal customer base in the area. Calthorpe Estates helped to facilitate the expansion incredibly quickly, which has enabled us to undergo the expansion without causing too much disruption for our customers.”

Within a few minutes’ walk of Five Ways station and even closer to the new Edgbaston Village Metro stop, which will open in 2021 along with on-site car parking, Wex Photo Video is easily accessible for both locals and those travelling from further afield. Edgbaston Village is fast becoming a vibrant dining, shopping and lifestyle location that is home to several award-winning restaurants, cafés and bars. Adding to this growing portfolio, the new photography hub adds yet another reason to visit the area.
